For the sauce:
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp honey
- ½ grated garlic clove
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
Ingredients
For the shrimp:
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 grated garlic cloves
- Salt and pepper
- ¾ cup flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 ½ cups panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
- Oil for frying
Preparation
- For the sauce, combine all the ingredients in a bowl, mix well, and set aside.
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Place the flour on a plate, beat the eggs in a bowl, and put the panko on another plate.
- Coat each shrimp in flour, then egg, and then panko. Let them chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pot and fry the shrimp. Drain them on paper towels.
- Serve immediately with the sauce.
